How to organize my mortgage search

A mortgage search can involve multiple lenders, Loan Estimates, and follow-ups. Staying organized helps you compare offers and stay on top of timelines. Start by listing the lenders you want to contact and the loan scenario you’re using (amount, term, type).

Request quotes from each lender for that same scenario. As you receive estimates, record the key numbers: rate, APR, payment, closing costs, and cash to close. A single place to store and view these makes comparison easier.

You can track which lenders you’ve applied with and their status (e.g. quote received, locked). That way you don’t lose track of who’s offered what.

A workspace that includes a lender directory and a comparison tool lets you track lenders, enter quotes, and view them side by side. That keeps your search organized and puts you in control.
